The Durham Dales Federation is a group of small rural primary schools, formed in September 2023. From November 2025, our schools will join with Butterknowle, Frosterley, and Woodland Primary Schools to form the Durham Dales Partnership.
Staff across all schools work collaboratively to share expertise and to plan and deliver the curriculum. Our subject leaders coordinate their subjects across the federation, ensuring that all pupils receive the same high-quality learning experiences.

View this PostWoodland Primary Today the Squirrels visited their local church, St Mary's, to see what we could see and hear. We went on a treasure hunt to see which common features of a church we could find in our church. After that, Reverent Lloyd told us about what the different features of the church are used for and why they are positioned in certain places within the church. He also told us some interesting facts about the church, like how it is one of only a few tin churches left in the world. It was also once a church in a different part of the world before being erected in Woodland, where it has proudly stood for over 120 years. Where it originally stood, however, is now lost to the sands of time.
